Most couples spend the night before their wedding finalizing details and relaxing with their wedding party after the rehearsal dinner. The morning of your wedding day is a bit different. It’s typically a flurry of activity, from getting your hair and makeup done to reviewing your wedding vows to trying to calm those butterflies in your stomach. But if you’re getting married in Lake Tahoe, there are a few unique ways to make the most of the morning and start your day off right. Keep reading for our best morning-of wedding ideas for your Lake Tahoe wedding.

How to Spend the Morning of Your Wedding in Lake Tahoe

There’s a reason you chose to get married in Lake Tahoe–probably because it’s one of the most beautiful destinations in the world! So, take advantage of that on your wedding day, and plan one or all of these five morning-of wedding ideas.

1. Start the Day with Yoga on the Lake

Yoga is a great way to center yourself and ease any nerves you may be feeling. Plus, it's a fun activity to do with your wedding party. Several yoga studios in Lake Tahoe offer classes specifically for brides-and-grooms-to-be. Palisades Yoga in North Lake Tahoe has private wedding day sessions, and Lake Tahoe Yoga in South Lake Tahoe offers paddleboard yoga on the lake! Depending on how adventurous you’re feeling, you can plan a private yoga class on the morning of your wedding to find your calm before you get married.

2. Hike Lake Tahoe’s Gorgeous Trails

If you love being outdoors, take advantage of Lake Tahoe's scenic trails and go on a hike with your wedding party. It's a great way to get some fresh air and take in the beauty of the area before your wedding. There are tons of amazing hikes all around Lake Tahoe. Some of our favorite easy-to-moderate hikes that don’t take more than an hour are:

3. Brunch It Up

While you may be tempted to skip breakfast on your wedding day, eating a healthy meal in the morning is essential. Doing so will help keep your energy levels up. And between the ceremony, wedding photos, reception activities, and spending time with your guests, you might not get to eat again for a while. So, take advantage of the morning and go to your favorite brunch spot with your besties or have a catered meal delivered to your getting-ready room. You might even sip on a mimosa or two, but don’t forget to hydrate with water, too!

4. Have a Mini-Spa Day

Whether you DIY it or hire someone to bring the spa to you, you can pamper yourself on the morning of your wedding. Some ideas include:

  • Getting manicures and pedicures with your wedding party

  • Doing a couples massage with just you and your spouse-to-be

  • Having all the men in the wedding party get a classic shave

It’s best to keep it simple. Don’t try new facial treatments on your wedding day because you don’t know how your skin will react. If you want a more elaborate spa day, we suggest scheduling one five to seven days before your wedding!

5. Take a Few Minutes to Yourself

While getting ready for your wedding with your friends and family is exciting, it can also get overstimulating. At some point, step away from all the excitement, and take some time to breathe deeply and prepare your heart and mind for the day. Take a short walk around your Lake Tahoe wedding venue or find a quiet place to spend a few minutes journaling or meditating. This is also a great time to write a note to your spouse-to-be if you’re exchanging letters before the ceremony.
